Now that American Idol and The Voice are over - why wait till fall for a new singing show? ABC has launched its latest singing competition "Duets" on May 24, a day after American Idol's season finale show. The show features judges/Superstars Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Robin Thicke and Jennifer Nettles and host Quddus and will run through the summer months.

The two-hour premiere kicked off with the four judges performing "Let Me Entertain You". Later on, it featured the judges roaming across America to find two people whom they'd like to have a duet with. Clarkson's proteges were Jordan Meredith and Jason Farol. John Legend chose Johnny Gray and Bridget Carrington, Thicke went with Alexis Foster and Olivia Chisholm while Nettles chose J Rome and John Glosson.
Later on in the show, the judges/mentors sang a duet with each their chosen two. The reviews and scores are given by the judges that didn't perform. Each performance will be ranked between 1 to 100 by the non-performing judges.
By the end of the show, Clarkson's team scored the lowest points. Nettle's protege Rome scored the highest on the leaderboard. There was no elimination on the first show so Clarkson's team have a chance to redeem themselves.
Among the judges, Robin Thicke appeared on this past season's "The Voice", as a guest mentor helping Adam Levine. When HuffPost asked if he knew about "Duets" while he was on "The Voice", he said he got the job offer right after he appeared on the show.
Thicke, 42, is an award-winning R&B singer-songwriter. He has written popular hits for Jennifer Hudson, Usehr, Mary J. Blige and Raven Symone. His single "Lost Without U" was number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in 2007. He is the son of actors Alan Thicke and Gloria Loring.

Duets is on Thursdays 8pm on ABC.
