'Hannibal' Spoilers Season 2: Hannibal Wants 'To Be Close To Will' Graham, Mads Mikkelsen On Characters' 'Bromance' VIDEO
Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham have a very complicated, albeit entirely unhealthy, relationship.
As NBC's Hannibal prepares for its second season, Mads Mikkelsen's cannibalistic title character is getting away with murder, literally. Now that he has framed the extremely ill Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) for his gruesomely staged killings, Hannibal will continue to try be involved in the scapegoats life behind bars.
"Hannibal will always want to be close to Will, series creator Bryan Fuller told TV Guide. "He sees a great potential in Will as this pure human being, and he's seduced by Will's purity. He's attracted to it, and he's also very eager to conquer it in some way."
While the good doctor is intrigued by Graham's innocence and untainted soul, the criminal profiler also has an intense interest in Hannibal, although that curiosity may have soured somewhat now that the dog lover has realized his trusted confidant is behind the recent murders.
"It's a bromance," Mikkelsen told the Radio Times of the psychologist's relationship with his patient. "There is definitely some sort of love - what kind of love, I'm not sure - between the characters of Will Graham and Hannibal. They have a mutual respect, a mutual interest, and within those two things love is being created as well. Not in a homoerotic way, but - I think they're fascinated by each other."
Hannibal will return to NBC for a 13-epsiode second season. Click the video below to see the last few minutes of season 1.
