Nina Dobrev's character, Elena Gilbert, will face a very difficult time in the upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries since she is in the hands of the Augustines.

In the episode teaser, Elena awakes in unfamiliar surroundings and is strapped down on an operating table. Clearly terrified, the vampire in distress tries to make sense of what's going on.

"Subject 83182 appears conscious," Dr. Wes is then heard saying. As Elena looks around to try and figure out where she is, she asks, "What is that thing? What are you doing to me?"

Ignoring her questions, Dr. Wes then places a gas mask over Elena's face, which forces her pass out. What will Dr. Wes do to Elena?

But, it seems Elena isn't completely hopeless. Stefan Salvatore will confront Aaron Whitmore in order to find out where Elena is. Since Stefan has proved that he will go to any length to make sure Elena is safe, it seems Aaron might need to watch his back.

Stefan calls Dr. Wes from Aaron's phone and says, "I'm trying to decide how to kill him." To that, Dr. Wes threatens, "Touch him and you'll never see Elena again."

Throughout the teaser the words, "When you cross a vampire, they come back to bite you," flash across the screen.

One fan, who seemed excited for the upcoming segment, tweeted, "I just want to watch the vampire diaries and fall asleep to damons beautiful voice."

The episode, titled "Fifty Shades of Grayson," will air on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. EST.
