With Kensi gone, Nell and Eric are bearing the brunt of Deeks' search for information in NCIS: Los Angeles' "Iron Curtain Rising."

A new clip from Tuesday's episode shows a very curious Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) who will not take no for an answer. After Kensi was hurried off to her new assignment at the end of "The Frozen Lake," her partner was told it was a classified mission and information was on a need to know basis. In the eyes of his superiors, Deeks apparently doesn't need to know.

However, the LAPD Detective will be called to Hetty's (Linda Hunt) office, albeit in a peculiar manner. Perhaps answers are on the way for the liaison officer.

Starting in "Iron Curtain Rising," viewers will get to see how Kensi's seven-episode Afghanistan story arc will affect the whole Los Angeles based team, particularly Deeks and Nell (Renee Felice Smith).

As the Special Ops team looks for a war criminal and former Romanian Communist leader that has been hiding out in Southern California, Nell will enter the field once more. Although she may not get to pose as pilots along with Deeks, Callen (Chris O'Donnell), and Sam (LL Cool J), the incredibly smart information analyst will find herself out of the Ops Center, according to a photo from Spoiler TV.

"Nell will definitely be more active during Kensi absence," said executive producer John Peter Kousakis.

In between trying to keep up with the CBS drama's series regulars, be on the look out for Bones' Andrew Leeds to make his first brief appearance as Tech Operator Booker.
