As old faces begin returning to Weatherfield just in time for the holiday season, new decisions by some will have unbearable consequences on those around them on Coronation Street.

Kal (Jimi Mistry) has returned to town, and will be whipping Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) into shape, making Michelle (Kym Marsh) wonder if she should hire him to train Steve (Simon Gregson) as well.

In an interview with ITV, Mistry explained a little more about his character and the potential new drama he could add to the cobblestone street that already sees a large helping of issues with its characters already.

"Kal is into bootcamps and that sort of thing. He's the type of trainer who inspires people to be better. He's quite a funny, cheeky little chap too," he said. "Kal's not afraid to speak his mind, he might rub a few people up the wrong way in Weatherfield."

Once he crosses paths with Nick (Ben Price), he could wind up causing problems for him and Gail (Helen Worth).

Gail is trying to deal with making a heartbreaking decision after Nick gives her an ultimatum to choose between him and his brother David (Jack P. Shepherd). Either way, she risks alienating one of her sons, and could be potentially setting herself up for disastrous consequences when she finally makes her choice.

Meanwhile, Marcus (Charlie Condou) will urge Brian (Peter Gunn) to be honest with Julie about his views on fostering, but he winds up being too late when a vindictive Todd (Bruno Langley) gets to her first.

Coronation Street airs Wednesday Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. on ITV.
