The Eleventh Doctor is courting death in a new trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special, "The Time of the Doctor."

As the Doctor and Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) chase a transmission across the universe, the Time Lord will meet up with some of his most famed enemies - the daleks, the cybermen, the Silence, and the weeping angels. Since Trenzalore has been referred to as the old Gallifreyan's gravesite, it remains to be seen just how the Doctor manages to regenerate once more.

Showrunner Steven Moffat is back to his rhyming games for the departure of Matt Smith's Doctor. As the new teaser opens up, Clara set the scene for the Doctor's upcoming battle with the words: "And now it's time for one last bow/Like all your other selves/Eleven's hour is over now/The clock is striking twelve."

Soon after, viewers get a glimpse of the mysterious Tasha Lem (Orla Brady) who, surrounded by soldiers that look as if they have just dropped out of "A Good Man Goes To War," announces that the siege of Trenzalore has begun and the Doctor has entered a trap.

However, Eleven is as stalwart as ever, goading his enemies in a similar manner as during "The Pandorica Opens," urging them to come and take his life if they want it. Unfortunately for The Doctor, Moffat has announced that the Gallifreyan has used up all his regenerations, meaning his next death should be the end of him.

It doesn't look like Clara is going to let that happen. The young companion can be heard urging someone to help the Doctor change the future and perhaps they are discussing changing the 12-regeneration limit.
