Although Castle (Nathan Fillion) is usually well-received by most people amid his fame as a top crime novelist on ABC's Castle, his estranged father Jackson Hunt (James Brolin) will reportedly return to the TV series to treat him as if he were a child.

To make matters worse, Jackson will end up working with his son's fiance, Beckett (Stana Katic), on an upcoming episode.

Brolin dished to TV Guide on Dec. 16 about his character, and what fans could anticipate from the not so loving father.

"I wanted viewers to find out how deadly he is. He gets a thrill out of terminating people who deserve it. The thrill is there, with no feeling of remorse ... [Jackson] talks down to his son like he's 5-years-old, and is very attracted to Kate. That's the kind of a-hole he is," he said.

Katic also chimed in, but on Kate's concerns, saying "[Beckett] has a big question about Jackson's true motives. He's not all that he seems."

To add to the drama, Castle's mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan), is also set to see Jackson for the first time in several years.
