"Hatfields and McCoys" Miniseries Portrays American Legendary Feud
History Channel's "Hatfields & McCoy's" miniseries premiered last night with mixed reviews. The three-part epic miniseries is the channel's first scripted drama, starring Kevin Costner, Bill Paxton and Tom Berenger.
The series is about Hatfield and McCoy, who return home during the Civil War but the two become enemies and results with disputes, kidnappings, family members dying and a whole lot of retaliation.
The History Channel website describes the miniseries: "The Hatfield-McCoy saga begins with Devil Anse Hatfield (Costner) and Randall McCoy (Paxton). Close friends and comrades until near the end of the Civil War, they return to their neighboring homes-Hatfield in West Virginia, McCoy just across the Tug River border in Kentucky-to increasing tensions, misunderstandings and resentments that soon explode into all-out warfare between their families. As hostilities grow, friends, neighbors and outside forces join the fight, bringing the two states to the brink of another civil war."
It seems that the miniseries is a hit - at least online - as it topped the Google search last night.
The two families and outline of the feud were introduced in Monday night's premiere episode. Part 2 will be aired May 29th at 9pm ET, and part 3 on May 30 at 8pm.
The soundtrack for the miniseries is available on iTunes. The songs are performed by Kevin Costner and his band Modern West.
