The Mentalist's post-Red John world has introduced viewers to a whole new cast of characters, and very few of them seem to get along with Patrick Jane.

The fuax psychic's move to the FBI has paired him with Kim Fischer (Emily Swallow), a woman who series creator Bruno Heller says will create problems for Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) friendship.

"We're going to have some fun putting Jane into an entirely different work environment," Baker told TV Guide. "He'll not only find his spark again - he'll have a whole lot of new people to rub the wrong way!"

Swallow, for her part, thinks that, despite her current issues with Jane, Fischer finds his unique investigative strategies intriguing.

"She's somebody who is incredibly ambitious and, thus far in her life, she's gotten where she is by pretty much sticking to the rules and going by the playbook," Swallow explained in a recent featurette. "So working with Patrick Jane is a new experience and it's something that she's excited about and intrigued by but it is a little difficult to get used to I think. But she's up for the challenge, she likes adventures. She went to a tiny little island, in disguise, to try and get this guy to come on board. She might get her feathers ruffled a bit but I think, secretly, she really enjoys it. She likes that he's thinking outside the box and that he's shaking things up."

Catch Fischer and Jane, Sundays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
