The football team at Nebraska will be facing off against Georgia at 12:00 p.m. EST Wednesday.

The unranked Nebraska Cornhuskers (8-4) will be playing the 23rd ranked Georgia Bulldogs (8-4) on the neutral EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The game also serves as the Gator Bowl, which is sponsored by TaxSlayer.com and has been held annually since 1946. Georgia is the favorite to win among oddsmakers.

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini noted the importance of winning the Gator Bowl and what it could mean for the team going into the 2014 season.

"Whether you win, you lose, no matter how the game goes, the same challenges lie ahead as far as what we need to do as a football team to win a championship next year," Pelini said.

As for the players to watch going into the Gator Bowl, Nebraska junior I-back Ameer Abdullah is proving himself to be a key component to the team's success. Abdullah has 1,568 rushing yards as well as eight touchdowns, having the fifth-best season in the team's history.

Georgia junior quarterback Huston Mason is making his second career start, replacing Aaron Murray. The quarterback has completed 22 out of 36 passes for 299 yards, landing two touchdowns and an interception in his first career start in November.

While Georgia has won four of their last five games, Michigan State has only won three of their last six games in the NCAA.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Georgia Bulldogs Gator Bowl will be broadcast live on ESPN2 at 12:00 p.m. EST and can be viewed through live streaming online here.
