'Bates Motel' Season 2 Premiere: Is Norma's New Boyfriend a Psycho? [VIDEO]
On the upcoming second season of Bates Motel, Norma (Vera Farmiga) will finally fall in love with a normal guy.
Actor Michael Vartan spoke with TV Guide recently about his guest-starring role as George in the new season of Bates Motel. George becomes Norma's new love interest and proves himself to be a force of good in her life.
"She's finally finding some stability with a partner after a pretty bad track record," Vartan told TV Guide. "Hopefully she won't mess it up." Norma and George meet a party thrown by his sister Christine (Rebecca Creskoff). "He is immediately taken by Norma and is very intrigued by how mysterious she is. We go on a double date with the sister and her husband, and Norma struggles to fit in."
Vartan admitted that he inquired the Bates Motel producers about his character and what would ultimately be wrong with him.
"Before I accepted the job, I asked the producers, 'Be honest with me. He's going to turn out to be a complete psycho, right?' And they said, 'Sorry. He's just a really nice guy with no weird skeletons in his closet,'" Vartan said.
This doesn't mean that George won't have a few secrets or flaws. The actor said that many details about his life were not addressed through the filming of season 2.
"So stay tuned to see if Norma's happiness collapses," Vartan teased.
Bates Motel season 2 premieres on Monday, March 3 on A&E. Though the network has not revealed the timeslot for Bates Motel season 2, it will presumably air at 10 p.m. like the first season.
