Secrets and lies seem to be affecting everyone in Port Charles on General Hospital.

The mob war between the Jerome and Corinthos families has brought out the worst qualities in those involved, specifically Morgan (Bryan Craig), whose alliances are torn between his father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard), and his lover, Ava Jerome (Maura West).
In a preview clip for the Wednesday, Jan. 8 episode, he appears to be seeking forgiveness from his father for the things he has done.
"I need to know if you can forgive me," Morgan said in the clip.
However, in a prior episode, he had realigned with the Jeromes, meaning he could be trying to trick Sonny into believing he's sorry so the Jeromes can gain an edge.
Ava, however, does not see this plan working.
"This is a very bad idea," she said to her brother, Julian (Michael DeVry).
Meanwhile, Dr. Silas Clay (Michael Easton) has been hiding something from his new love, Sam (Kelly Monaco), and the secret has finally come to light. Whatever it is, it is potentially scaring Sam into leaving Silas, which he can't handle.
"You're not going anywhere until you hear me out," he said in the clip.
Lulu (Emme Rylan) is still not reacting well to her and Dante's (Dominic Zamprogna) continued struggles at conceiving a baby, and has taken the only step she feels will give her closure on a painful chapter of her life.
"I left Dante," she said to Luke (Anthony Geary) in the clip.
And time may be up for Carly (Laura Wright), who finds herself on the wrong end of Heather's (Robin Matson) gun.
"We've got a lot to take care of before the fun begins," Heather said.
