‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Roy Struggles With Guilt About Hayley & Maddie Punches Tim? [PHOTOS & VIDEO]
Roy (David Neilson) is having a hard time dealing with Hayley's (Julie Hesmondhalgh) death on Coronation Street.
Coronation Street: Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014
The café owner is struggling mostly with guilt that he allowed Hayley to go through with ending her own life, and the grief and anger will become overwhelming for him das he tries to work. Anna (Debbie Rush), who discovered the true circumstances surrounding Hayley's death on her own, will try to convince a distraught Roy that he didn't do anything wrong.
His wife's death will continue to factor into Roy's psyche.
Meanwhile, Maddie (Amy Kelly) is furious because Sophie (Brooke Vincent) has refused to give her the £50 she promised for the return of Sally's (Sally Dynevor) gold watch. Her anger will propel her to break into the Webster's flat as she looks to get the watch back, but she disturbs a sleeping Tim (Joe Duttine) in the process. As he tries to stop her from getting away, Maddie punches him in the face. Later, when Sally discovers him, bleeding, he will tell his girlfriend that a large and burly man broke in and assaulted him to save face.
Nick (Ben Price) and Leanne (Jane Danson) have been working on repairing their marriage, but the couple hits their ultimate end after Nick gets furious with his wife for fussing over him after he gets inured while training. The two will sit down and evaluate their relationship, but ultimately they will both come to the conclusion that it is no longer working for them.
Danson sat down with Radio Times to talk about the couple's impending split.
"Ultimately he's the one who puts his hands up and says 'you know what? We've got to split up,'" Danson said Jan. 14. "Leanne knows it's the right decision, but she desperately doesn't want the marriage to fail. She has tried so hard and doesn't want to walk away again."
"They sit down and talk about it-there's no shouting and they are both just resigned to it really," she added. "They do love each other, so it's really sad. She did sit by his bedside, she was here for him and despite all the bad things she's done in the past this was the one thing that she really tried at. But it has failed again because the love is just not there in the right way."
