While Glee star Cory Monteith tragically passed away last year, he is still a major part of of the show; the director has revealed that the show's 100th episode will touch on his death.

Paris Barclay shared several details of the two-part special episode with Us Weekly at the 66th Annual Directors Guild Awards Saturday.

"I don't think it could go much farther without continuing to talk about how that hurts. There is so much feeling there and it affected the Glee family in such a profound way, and you can expect it to be dealt with in the 100th episode. It definitely comes back and is dealt with in a significant way."

The show did have a tribute episode in October of 2013 titled The Quarterback. But Monteith's, who played Finn Hudson, sudden passing has not been addressed much since then.

Monteith's girlfriend at the time of his death and fellow Glee star Lea Michele will be in the episode along with many of the original Glee cast members from Amber Riley and Dianna Agron to Heather Morris. Celebrities will also be joining the cast for the episode as Kristin Chenoweth and Gwyneth Paltrow will be making appearances.

Barclay said their cameos could add a lighter vibe to the episode.

"The two of them are hysterical. They have lots of scenes together, and I think they will be clamoring for a spin off after this! They have great chemistry, and they are incredibly funny.

Some of the show's stars have already taken to their social media to share pictures of the 100th episode.

Michele (who plays Rachel) posted a picture on Twitter on Jan. 20 with the caption, "Singing on the #glee set tonight! So happy to work w/ the amazing [Chenoweth] Love her so much! #glee100thepisode"

Naya Rivera revealed on Instagram that she'll be stripping down to lingerie for the 100th episode. She added "#Glee100" as a caption for both pictures earlier this week.

The upcoming episode will debut on FOX in April.
