'Bones' Returning for Season 10: Fox Renews Brennan-Booth Procedural, Moving Back to Mondays [VIDEO]
Bones fans can officially rejoice: the Fox show has been renewed for a 10th season.
Fans of Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) have another season of cases to look forward to thanks to Fox. Bones was officially renewed for season 10 on Wednesday, with Fox president Kevin Reilly praising the long-running procedural.
"Over the course of nine seasons, Bones has grown from a hit crime procedural into a beloved pillar of our lineup that resonates with fans in a way that only the best of shows can," Reilly said in a press release. "Our viewers have embraced Emily, David and the entire cast and characters of Bones as their very own, and I think they are going to love what Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan have planned for Season 10!"
Additionally, Fox will be moving Bones back to its Monday night timeslot starting on Monday, March 10. The network scheduled to show on Mondays at 8 p.m. in September but moved the show to Fridays at 8 p.m. in November.
Bones executive producer Stephen Nathan had previously said that the season 9 finale would end with a cliffhanger, suggesting that a season 10 was at least in discussion.
"We're going out on a pretty big cliffhanger at the end of this [ninth] season," Nathan explained to TVLine. "It will change, at least temporarily, the landscape of the show. It really will be a very big shift in how Booth and Brennan will be dealing with crimes in the future."
Bones season 9 currently airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
