The synopsis for the episode, titled "Take It Back," explains that "Meredith feels betrayed when Derek goes back on a promise."

Before the show's winter finale, Derek turned down an offer to partake in a prestigious study for Meredith.

But, after he received a phone call from the President of the United States to join him on a brain mapping project, it may be impossible for him to deny the proposition. That one phone call may have the potential to tear the couple apart for good.

"I can tell you that everything kind of gets turned upside emotionally because of the President's phone call to Derek," Sarah Drew, who plays April on the show, told Glamour. "All kinds of things get messed up because of that phone call."

However, it's not only the specific phone call that will cause unrest. The episode synopsis also reveals that the doctors face consequences after April's nuptials.

Her wedding day will determine whether or not she stays with Matthew or chooses to go with Jackson, who interrupts the ceremony to proclaim his love for her.

Grey's Anatomy returns for the second half of season 10 on Thursday, Feb. 27 on ABC.
