Daryl Set To Get More Emotional In Upcoming Episodes?

As The Walking Dead launches into the second half of season 4, the popular zombie thriller will feature the introduction of three new characters: Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita (Christian Serratos).

Abraham, Eugene and Rosita are first introduced in Issue 53 of The Walking Dead comic book series. The three characters are on a mission to Washington, D.C. when they first meet the remaining survivors.

Glenn & Maggie Wedding?

Eugene is arguably the most important member of the group as he claims to know the cause of the zombie apocalypse. He is a former high school science teacher who tells others that he is a scientist.

Abraham is a former U.S. Army sergeant with anger issues who ultimately isolated himself from his family, who would later succumb to the zombie apocalypse.

Rosita is Abraham's girlfriend. Prior to meeting Abraham and Eugene, she performed sexual favors to men in exchange for her protection after the apocalypse.

The first introduction of these characters occurs after the farm battle in the Walking Dead comics, but the series already breezed through the farm drama in season 2. The new characters will have to be introduced in another way.

Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd recently spoke with FEARNET.com about Abraham, Eugene and Rosita.

"They are quite different than other characters who have joined the show, so that is exciting," she said. "Their sensibilities and missions in life are quite different. We'll see how they interact with anyone they might encounter. As always, the growing number of zombies remains a tremendous threat because they are on their own, exposed, and vulnerable because they are no longer behind the walls of the prison. There are also people, perhaps, just as evil as the Governor out there."

Abraham, Eugene and Rosita will be introduced in season 4, episode 10, titled Inmates.

The Walking Dead season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
