Orange is the New Black season 2 will feature further development of some of the show's supporting characters as the series increases its large ensemble.

New Orange Is The New Black Episodes To Feature a Tougher Piper Chapman?

Orange is the New Black season 2 is set to premiere all 13 episodes on June 6 through Netflix streaming, and fans should expect more of an exploration of the prison drama's less prominent characters.

Some of these characters include the wisecracking Taystee (Danielle Brooks) and her trusted sidekick Poussey (Samira Wiley). Both Brooks and Wiley have confirmed that their characters will be explored further in season 2.

"Surprises" Ahead of Spring Premiere?

Prison guard John Bennett (Matt McGorry) will also have a prominent storyline in season 2 as he continues to deal with making prisoner Daya (Dascha Polanco) pregnant. McGorry previously said that Bennett will "sweat a lot" in season 2 when it comes to covering up this development.

There will also be new characters featured in season 2, adding even more to the expanding cast. Lori Petty (A League of Their Own) has reportedly signed on for a guest-starring role in season 2, though the details of the role have not yet been released.

For those who do not have Netflix and want to catch up on Orange is the New Black, the complete first season is being released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 13. The box-set is packed with bonus features, such as audio commentary, featurettes and a gag reel.
