'True Detective' Spoilers: Episode 7 To Feature Cohle & Hart Murder Revelation? [VIDEO]
The creator of HBO's True Detective recently spoke out about what was ahead for Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Hart (Woody Harrelson) as the season winds to a close.
True Detective Season 2 To Feature Female Detectives?
Nic Pizzolatto, who has written every episode of True Detective, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the next episode of the series and why it could be an emotional one.
"For me, two of the most touching moments in the series come in episode 7, when Marty asks Maggie [Michelle Monaghan] what she talked to the cops about, and he thanks her for raising their daughters well," Pizzolatto said, before adding: "And when Cohle and Hart each describe their lives since the end of their partnership, and it's clear that each of them are alone and living very isolated half lives."
Hart Self-Destructs in Episode 7?
Pizzolatto suggested both men will be left alone without much to live for anymore.
The writer called the revelations about Cohle and Hart, "the sad end results of the truths that neither man would face about themselves, to me, that's the total vision, that's what we're saying these men, and heroes and anti-heroes."
He also revealed that there was a scene in episode 7 in which the audience meets Maggie's new husband after her separation from Hart, however the scene was cut.
"They're all much healthier. That's what Hart is thanking her for in [episode] 7," Pizzolatto said. "Thank YOU for doing everything."
Additionally, True Detective will finally address whether or not Cohle and Hart are actually the perpetrators behind all the murders that have occurred since 1995. Pizzolatto said that there have been many theories from fans but they will know if Cohle and Hart are involved by the end of episode 7.
True Detective airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
