Former NHL player Sean Avery might be joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars for season 18 this spring.

The 33-year-old hockey star has allegedly been cast to participate in Dancing With the Stars season 18, according to the New York Post. The report (via several sources) has claimed that Avery is working out with a trainer ahead of the upcoming March season of the show.

As the report notes, this will be yet another "career change" for Avery as he began working for an advertising agency in New York after retiring from hockey.

Avery becomes yet another celebrity rumored to be participating in Dancing With the Stars in season 18. Other celebrities heavily rumored to be cast are Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes, Full House actress Cheryl Cameron Bure and Olympian-turned-reality star Bruce Jenner.

Also, Australian pop singer Cody Simpson is reportedly still in talks to join Dancing With the Stars this season, confirming the potential casting with JustJared Jr. this week.

Dancing With the Stars is undergoing several changes as it prepares for its 18th season. Tom Bergeron's co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet has been replaced by Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews, while the producers have also fired longtime bandleader Harold Wheeler and replaced him with Ray Chew and a smaller band.

The cast announcement for Dancing With the Stars season 18 will take place Tuesday, March 4 on ABC's Good Morning America.

Dancing With the Stars season 18 premieres Monday, March 17 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
