'Mad Men' Season 7 Spoilers: 'Dreamlike' Poster Reveals 'What's Going On In Don Draper's Mind'? [VIDEO]
The season 7 premiere of Mad Men is just weeks away, and the acclaimed AMC series has unveiled the official poster for the final episodes.
Don Draper Facing "Irreversible Consequences" in Season 7 Premiere?
The official poster for Mad Men season 7 features the iconic silhouette of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) that appears in the opening credits. However, his silhouette is marveling at a colorful, groovy canvas that seems to symbolize hippie culture. This suggests that the '60s drama will feature the full transition from the properness left over from the '50s to the "free love" counter-culture.
"There is a dreamlike quality to it, and believe it or not, it is related to the show, and not because it's psychedelic," Weiner told The New York Times, discussing the season 7 poster. "That's not what it's about. What it's about is the material and the immaterial world, and that's what I loved."
Peggy Olson Back Together With Ted Or Happy Alone?
While Weiner was tight-lipped on what this poster means for Mad Men's final season, he teased that it represents what's going on in Don's mind.
"This is related to the late '60s, which is all I will say about it." he said. "It maintains the idea that this is somehow going on in Don Draper's mind, which is what the story is always about - and what the back of his head is about, on some level."
The unveiling of the season 7 poster comes days after the first teaser trailer was released. The teaser shows Don exiting a plane in dark clothing, heavily contrasted by the brightness all around him.
Mad Men season 7 premieres Sunday, April 13 at 10 p.m. on AMC.
