After a season of goodbyes and new faces, NCIS was renewed by CBS.

NCIS Season 11 Finale Spoilers!

"In case you haven't heard #NCIS was renewed for Season 12! HOORAY! Thanks you guys! You're amazing!" cast member Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto, tweeted on Thursday.

Her fellow co-star Sean Murray, aka Timothy McGee, also tweeted, "so happy to hear about the s12 pick-up as well :) good vibes at work today for sure!"

The renewal proves that NCIS fans didn't give up on the show after the departure of the beloved character Ziva David and the addition of Ellie Bishop.

Ziva, played by Cote de Pablo, left the show after an emotional episode last October. During the segment, Tony DiNozzo flew to Tel Aviv, Israel to find his runaway love and discovered that she had no intention of returning to the NCIS team.

"Listen you can bag groceries for all I care, just come home. I just want you to come home with me," a teary-eyed Tony told her before they parted ways. "I know it's hard and I know you want to change. I can change with you. I'm fighting for you Ziva."

Fans of the show were outraged by Ziva's departure and voiced their concerns for months on Twitter. The show's executives quickly moved on by introducing Ellie. However, the new character received mixed reviews from fans and some said she could never replace de Pablo, who starred in the show for eight seasons.

Yet, despite all the controversy during season 11, it seems the NCIS fandom is too strong to break.
