Seems like BBC viewers will be starved of a healthy dose of comedy as Family Guy and American Dad might not air on the popular television network anymore.

After it was recently announced that the two comedy shows will not be available on streaming on BBC's iPlayer, it seems like the shows might be in danger of losing their BBC viewership altogether. In a new development, as BBC Three, the channel on which the shows aired, is set to be axed, Family Guy and American Dad have lost a home in England.

The BBC intends on transferring most of its BBC Three shows to its iPlayer but as the series are banned on the internet extremity of the network, it seems like they have been kicked to the curb.

20th Century FOX seems to have stopped the show from being relayed to the British television network's iPlayer. The issues seem to have also cropped up because of security filters on the iPlayer, which is the network's free VOD (video on demand) service.

A BBC spokesperson spoke to the press to clarify that the shows were treasured by them and they weren't being able to make them available to audiences on the iPlayer due to rights issues. He also stated that there might still be hope as the director of BBC Television stood behind Family Guy and American Dad.

Here's the spokesperson's statement:

"We will be speaking to all our suppliers, following last week's announcement. However, at the moment due to rights issues, we are unable to make Family Guy or American Dad available on BBC iPlayer. But there could still be hope as Danny Cohen, director of BBC Television, added on Twitter last week: Family Guy and American Dad are so important to BBC Three. We plan to continue showing them."

The Seth McFarlane animated comedy series is currently in its 12th season.

Here's the brief synopsis of the next episode titles 3 Acts of God: "Peter and his pals undertake a global search for God and ask that He stop influencing the outcome of pro-football games."

3 Acts of God, will air on Fox on March 16 at 8:30 p.m.
