March Madness is underway and the road to a 2014 NCAA Women's Basketball championship will soon begin, once the top teams get a seed during Selection Monday, March 17.

The selection show is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. on ESPN and will televise the announcement of where the top sixty-four teams around the nation will end up on the bracket.

The Connecticut Huskies are expected to nab a No. 1 overall seed after finishing the regular season with an undefeated record of 33-0. Notre Dame is also likely to get a top seed. The other two slots are up for grabs.

Last year, the Huskies won the championship over the Louisville Cardinals in a blowout score of 93-60.

UConn has won all eight NCAA finals in which they have played:1995, 2000, '02, '03, '04, '09, '10 and '13.

"I've said this before: I really believe that coaches lose more championship games than they win," Coach Geno Auriemma said at the time. "You don't have your team ready for whatever reason, mentally usually. I've been in the Final Four a couple of times where we've lost, and mentally we weren't right. But we've never been in a championship game where mentally we weren't right. That's something I'm really proud of."

The year's NCAA tourney is scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 22. The Final Four will be held in Nashville, Tenn.
