Basketball Wives: Shaunie O'Neal Insists She Didn't Fire 3 Members of Cast
"Basketball Wives" star and producer Shaunie O'Neal fought back at reports that she had three cast-members fired. She insists that it was not her fault that they were axed and that she found out about it at the same time as everybody else.
According to TMZ, Shaunie told her friends that the decision to cut Jennifer Williams, Royce Reed and Kesha Nichols was not hers and that she was in the dark about everything. Sources told TMZ that she is upset about the situation and may even leave the reality TV series if becomes something she no longer believes in it.
VH1's reality show Basketball Wives was shrouded in controversy after the reality stars displayed moments of violence and bullying on the show. With the image of the show being tarnished, VH1 and Shed Media - the producers of the show - fired three cast members in an effort to improve to change the direction of the show.
It was reported that three castmates were axed from the show in the show's effort to eradicate "dead weight".
Jennifer Williams was reportedly fired because of her lawsuit against Evelyn Lozada's assistant Nia Crooks. Producers of the show reportedly tried to stop Williams from pursuing the lawsuit, in which she claims that Crooks physically assaulted her. But Williams did not budge and therefore considered to be a liability to continue on the show.
Reed was reportedly fired because of a 2009 gag order that prevents her from talking about her child's father Dwight Howard of Orlando Magic in any form.
And Kesha Nichols, who was famously bullied by Tami Roman, was reportedly fired for being too boring.
