Purdy is a Paralympian snowboarder who lost both of her legs at the age of 19 due to a bacterial meningitis. The snowboarder, now 34, is currently paired with five-time Dancing With the Stars champion Derek Hough on the 18th season of the dancing competition show, and she proved Monday night that her artificial legs will not hold her back from being a huge threat.
DWTS judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli all raved about Purdy and Hough's Cha Cha Cha in the premiere.

"We can't judge you any different to any other star on the show, and I think that's how you'd like it," Goodman told her after her dance. "It's all about the dancing." He added that she received a bronze medal at the Paralympics but a gold medal on the dance floor.
Tonioli compared her to Wonder Woman and praised her timing, shapes and performance level, saying that he was "gobsmacked."
Meanwhile, Inaba became very emotional after Purdy's dance, calling her a "beacon of light in this world," and saying that it was an honor to watch her dance.
The judges gave Purdy a score of 24 out of 30, tying her for third overall for the night.
Purdy has had a hectic week, having competed in the Paralympics and winning the bronze medal, followed immediately by rehearsals for her premiere performance on Dancing With the Stars.
Dancing With the Stars season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
