The latest twist to Dancing With the Stars already has contestants and fans up in arms and it might be happening sooner rather than later. The new twist forces the celebrity contestants to switch their original partners for new partners, based on the audience vote.
ABC released a promo teasing that the "biggest surprises" are set to begin on Monday night's episode of the show. In addition to the first elimination of the season, episode 2 will also feature the fan vote as they decide the new dancing couples.

"You take control of the ballroom," the promo teases. "You decide who dances with who. The vote begins live."
This could mean that the celebrity cast could be getting their new partners by week 3 or 4, just as they are getting used to their original partners.
The premiere episode of Dancing With the Stars season 18 featured 12 new celebrities showing off their dancing skills for the first time. The leading contenders that could be threats to win the season emerged while others proved that they may not be long for the show.
Olympic ice dancer Charlie White was the highest scoring celebrity, scoring a 27 out of 30 with partner Sharna Burgess. Meanwhile, Star Wars fan favorite Billy Dee Williams was by far the lowest scoring celebrity, scoring a 15 out of 30 with Emma Slater.
Dancing With the Stars season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
