The Switch Up twist features the celebrity cast members switching pro partners, essentially undoing weeks of getting used to their partner. Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who have become frontrunners in the competition so far, are particularly upset about the twist.
"I'm not pleased with it," Davis told E! News after scoring an almost perfect 39 out of 30 on Monday night's show.

"We're very upset. But listen, it is what it is. We can't control it," Chmerkovskiy added. "I'll show up to work tomorrow, I will try to be my best. I might cry a little bit when I see who it is because whoever it is, it's not Meryl, so I'll be sad. Then I will gather myself and then somehow pull it out."
Similarly, NeNe Leakes and partner Tony Dovolani are not exactly thrilled about parting each other either.
"Well, I hate to lose him because I'm very attached to him. We're almost married," Leakes said of Dovolani, who added: "She's getting a hall pass, but it's coming with instructions. She's not allowed to do a lot of things."
Leakes openly admitted that she was not looking forward to having a new partner.
"He's very bossy, trust me. I can't even look at the guy in the eye. I'm not looking forward to the Switch," she said. "The Switch is going to be very difficult."
The remaining celebrity contestants will switch partners on the Monday, April 7 show. The new couples were voted on by America.
Dancing With the Stars season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
