It appears some big characters may be dying on The Vampire Diaries this season.

"I think that there will be an impressive body count on both shows by the time the seasons are over," co-creator Julie Plec told E! Online about Vampire Diaries and its spin-off The Originals.
The website also noted that some of the deaths will "be kind of a big deal."
Will it be Bonnie? Executive producer Caroline Dries previously hinted that the character, played by Kat Grahams, may be a possibility.
"We raise the question, 'Can you even kill Bonnie? What would happen?'" she recently told TV Guide. "When she's in danger, the whole other side is in jeopardy, so it's a big deal to keep her safe."
Many characters have already been killed off the show since its premiere in 2009, including Mason Lockwood (Taylor Kinney), who made the mistake of falling for Katherine, Rose (Lauren Cohen), who had a little fling with Damon before she got bit by a werewolf and Aimee (Tiya Sircar), who was murdered by Katherine.
This season, fans also saw the demise of Katherine, which is presumably for good. There's no saying who will be next.
