Robert Patrick, who played San Bernardino Charter President Packer in one episode of season 6, will return for more episodes in season 7. SOA show runner Kurt Sutter announced this news on his WTFSutter YouTube series, saying that the character will return with a larger story.
Additionally, Sutter revealed that the Mayans will have a bigger role in season 7. The Mayans Motorcycle Club have been one of the most significant MCs since the beginning of Sons of Anarchy, and it is only fitting that the series will conclude with the club having a larger story than ever before.

Details are gradually beginning to be filled in on the seventh and final season of Sons of Anarchy. Sutter has been announcing the various players who will be a part of the final season via WTFSutter.
In addition to main characters Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) and Gemma (Katey Sagal), the final season will see the return of Nero Padilla (Jimmy Smits), Charles Barosky (Peter Weller) and potentially Tyne Patterson (CCH Pounder).
Sutter also recently announced via Twitter that shock rocker Marilyn Manson would be playing a character who "rides the dragon," a phrase that essentially means "heroin user."
Sons of Anarchy season 7 premieres in fall 2014 on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
