'Orange is the New Black' Season 2: Laura Prepon Returning Full-Time For More Episodes Despite Previous Hesitation? [VIDEO]
Laura Prepon is set to return as Alex Vause full-time on Orange is the New Black assuming Netflix picks up the series for a third season.
Piper Ready To Rip Someone's Throat Out in Season 2 TRAILER?
Prepon is reportedly set to be a full-time cast member again in a hypothetical season 3, according to a new report by BuzzFeed. Season 2 is set to air in June but Prepon will have significantly less screen time than she had in the show's breakout first season.
The actress is only set to appear in four out of 13 episodes in season 2, which is actually an increase from her original plan. She initially decided to exit the series and only appear in one episode of season 2, but after the show became massively popular, she reportedly agreed to up her episode count to four.
Piper & Larry Do "Irreparable Damage" To Their Relationship?
Prepon's Alex has been one of the more significant characters in Orange is the New Black, as she is the main catalyst for her former lover Piper (Taylor Schilling) going to prison. The two women were sentenced to the same Litchfield prison where they ultimately went from enemies to lovers again.
Catherine Cleary Wolters, the real-life Alex Vause from Piper Kerman's memoir on which the series is based, recently spoke with Vanity Fair about what the Netflix series got wrong about her stay in prison.
"We did not have sex in prison," she said. "Not even a little bit." She also quipped that even though the series was slightly inaccurate about her and Kerman's stay in prison, "The actors are incredible, the story line is interesting, and come on, who doesn't want to see Donna from That '70s Show [Prepon] have lesbian sex?"
Orange is the New Black season 2 premieres in full on Friday, June 6 on Netflix streaming.
