Despite potentially bringing new fiancée Jenny McCarthy on board for season 2 of A&E's The Wahlburgers, Donnie Wahlberg himself may not return after landing a new series of his own.

Jenny McCarthy Joining Cast of 'Wahlburgers' After Engagement To Donnie?

Wahlberg, one-fifth of the hit band New Kids on the Block, has signed on with the band to star on Rock the Boat: NKOTB, a new eight-episode series on TV Guide Channel, which will chronicle the band hanging out with fans on a cruise ship.

It is unclear if this will affect Wahlberg's participation on his family's hit reality show, which chronicles the Wahlburgers restaurant franchise, which Donnie owns with brothers Mark and Paul. The show has featured the conflicts between the brothers as Mark and Donnie try to make the chain grow, using methods which Paul has been resistant to.

Jim Wahlberg Joining 'The Wahlburgers?'

It was earlier reported that Jim Wahlberg was joining the cast of the show in the second season, marking him as a possible replacement for Donnie if he leaves the show.

It could also be possible that Donnie will return for Wahlburgers after his commitment to the band's show has ended.

Meanwhile, fans of the series who are looking forward to the second season but can't wait for it to air, can pick up a DVD set of the show's first season when it is released on July 22. According to a statement on TV Shows on DVD, the first season DVD will be a two-disc set featuring the first nine episodes of the show, as well as potential extras including deleted scenes. It is slated to cost $19.98.
