"It's creepy to think someone could be that good of an actor," Tori Spelling, 40, said of her husband about his nonchalance, until the affair broke nationwide. In a therapy session Dean McDermott, 47, had a breakdown over the shame he now feels for cheating - his face turned red. But many viewers are still thinking the same thing as Tori.
Tori Hospitalized After Affair, Husband Brings Her Food Amid Scandal
On True Tori, Spelling talks to her husband about his affair in their therapy session. She says how he didn't show enough remorse initially E! Online's May 5 reports.
"It's creepy to think someone could be that good of an actor," Spelling said. "This, to me, was done right in the middle of loving you." She showed him a picture of a Christmas event of her and the kids in fake snow where she explained McDermott's absence to the kids with "Oh Daddy's busy, he's working." She wanted to continue spilling her guts, but McDermott grabbed his head as his face turned red.
"Like an ice-pick through my head," he said.
The scorned wife immediately pulled back lamenting, "This is why I don't do this... this is why I don't bring up my feelings, see what it does?" She showed more concern for her husband's reaction than for her own feelings of betrayal. However, the therapist urged her on: "You have to do this... He has to be able to go through this pain. He has to feel remorse. He has to feel pain."
With his head covering his face, McDermott admitted, "I felt shame like I've never felt shame before. You were at a Christmas event, and I was f---ing around. That's disgusting. That's disgusting."
Viewers had mixed reactions. Most wondering, why is this on TV?
Some E! Online commenters thought it was all theater:
"They deserve each other This is exactly what it is, acting. These two make me sick, truly sick. anything for a buck."
Another: "what a crock I couldn't even finish watching that clip, I wanted to puke, they are so theatrical, it's pathetic. Sad really"
Some viewers urged them to privatize their cringe-worthy marital problems:
"be private for ONCE TURN THE CAMERAS OFF! Its hard to feel bad when they are choosing to air their dirty laundry..."
Others just thought McDermott's sudden shame was a shame (or a sham):
"Jane He never felt shame before?!?! So I guess he felt no shame when he was supposed to be working while his two kids and wife were at home, but he was really screwing Tori 7 years ago? Nice, I'm sure his ex wife and kids feel great."
