Doris Singleton from 'I Love Lucy' Dies at Age 92
Actress and comedian Doris Singleton who starred as the neighbor of Lucy and Ricky on "I Love Lucy" has died. She was 92.
Singleton died Tuesday in Los Angeles, according to People Magazine.
"A day of saying hasta luego to two great ladies, Nora Ephron and Doris Singleton," Lucie Arnaz wrote on her Facebook page. "May they both fly swiftly heavenward and enjoy a blissful rest for jobs well done down here. They were loved and appreciated and will be missed."
Singleton is best known for her recurring roles as "Carolyn Appleby" one of Lucy's friend on "I Love Lucy" and as "Magda" on "Hogan's Heroes."
She was married to writer Charlie Isaacs who died in 2002.
Singleton began her career as a ballet dancer in New York and transitioned to work as a singer and actress in network radio.
She also appeared on All in the Family, Adventures of Superman, Hogan's Heroes, My Three Sons, Hazel, The Munsters, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., The Fugitive, The F.B.I., Marcus Welby, M.D., Phyllis, Days of Our Lives and Dynasty, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
