Caroline wants to kill her ex-boyfriend on the next episode of The Vampire Diaries. While it sounds a bit crazy, she does have a good reason for it.

In a sneak peek of Thursday's episode, titled "Promised Land," Caroline is seen telling Bonnie that she feels she might be able to save Tyler by killing him. She thinks it's the only way to defeat Julian, the Traveler who took over his body.

According to Caroline's plan, Tyler will then go to the "Other Side" along with Bonnie and Enzo and they will all return with Liv's spell. The special spell has the potential to bring people back from the purgatory. There's just one problem - the spell doesn't exist.

"There is no spell. I made it up," Bonnie tells Caroline. "The other side is collapsing and everyone in it, including me, is going away for good. So no, I don't think you should kill Tyler."

Executive producer Caroline Dries recently told Entertainment Weekly of her "desire to get rid of the other side" and the possibility of Bonnie leaving for good.

"Pushing toward the finale, they have a united cause because the travelers are trying to rip away their home," she told the magazine of the Mystic Fall gang. "In the meantime, the other side is falling apart, so the question is, what's going to happen to Bonnie? What's going to happen to our friends who are over there who we occasionally check in with? Do they just go away like Vicki did a few episodes ago?"
