'Once Upon a Time' Season 4 News: 'Frozen' Characters Anna & Olaf Set To Join Elsa In New Episodes? [VIDEO]
After the shocking reveal of Elsa from Frozen in the Once Upon a Time season 3 finale, the show's creators are reportedly looking to bring in multiple characters from the billion-dollar film phenomenon.
Elsa Of Frozen To Star In Season 4?
Once Upon a Time shocked fans around the world when they introduced Elsa in the final minutes of the finale Sunday. Elsa's presence indicates that she will be in Season 4 of the fantasy series, but she will also be joined by some of her frozen friends, assuming the show's creators get their way.
Series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz spoke with TV Guide after the dramatic finale and revealed that there may be more Frozen ahead in Season 4.
Regina & Robin Hood's Relationship Explored Further In Season 4?
"We would be very disappointed if Elsa was the only one from that world that you saw," Horowitz said. "Who else may appear, we're not ready to tell you just yet."
This means that some of the film's biggest characters, such as Anna and Olaf, could appear alongside her at some point.
With Season 3 having just ended, there is very little done so far for Season 4. In fact, the actress set to play Elsa hasn't even be cast yet, according to the producers. They also aren't ready to slide Elsa into the role of "the villain," considering her moral complexities in the film.
"As for her being a villain, the thing we loved so much about that movie, among a million other things, was that Elsa was misunderstood," Horowitz said.
"She was never a villain. She was only thought to be. For us, that's powerful," Kitsis added.
Horowitz explained that they are setting out to "honor the character that everybody has fallen in love with so quickly." He said that once viewers finally see their interpretation of the character, then they will see what they're trying to do with her.
Once Upon a Time season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on ABC. It is going to return in its regular Sundays at 8 p.m. timeslot, though a premiere date has not yet been set.
