When Bones returns for its 10th season in fall 2014, the couple at the central of the show will have not made physical contact with each other for months.

Booth & Brennan Hit With 'Destructive Forces'

Bones executive producer Stephen Nathan spoke with TVLine about where things will end up for Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) in Season 10, and the EP assured that they will have at least seen each other.

"They will definitely have seen each other. Although they won't have touched each other. It will be three months later when we see them again," Nathan revealed. "And they have been through a lot."

Brennan & Booth Ready For Baby No. 2 To Join Christine?

Monday night's finale of Season 9 packed a punch as Booth was arrested for killing three members of the FBI while Brennan was taken into custody for questioning about her own involvement in the grand conspiracy. With the show's two central characters being essentially at odds with the FBI, the dynamic will likely be very different next season, at least for a few episodes.

Nathan also spoke with the site Give Me My Remote, in which he revealed what Brennan will be up to with Booth in jail.

"Brennan and the other people at the lab will have had these three months to comb through all of the information that they found and put together a scenario that makes sense. A plan, a plot, that makes logical sense," Nathan explained.

He added that the team will determine that the plot goes back into the past, resulting in a very happy Hodgins (T. J. Thyne).

"It will be a situation that is really a dream come true for Hodgins: all of his conspiracies have not been fantasy; that many of them are in fact true," Nathan said. "They may have been based in ephemeral data, but it's now becoming concrete. And they realize there's now more to those conspiracy theories than we initially thought."

Bones Season 10 premieres in fall 2014 on Fox. The network has not yet announced a premiere date but it will be moving to Thursdays at 8 p.m. for all new episodes.
