‘Amish Mafia’ Season 4 Cast News: Stars Of Discovery Hit ‘Blurring The Lines’ Between Real Life & Television Show? [PHOTOS]
As they secretly film episodes for their upcoming fourth season, Amish Mafia stars Esther and John Schmucker are being called out for their reported antics outside of their show.
Amish Mafia Fourth Season CONFIRMED
Both siblings have been in the media in recent months for various courtroom dramas, with the most recent involving John, who was sentenced to three months in prison May 21 for receiving 10 citations for driving on a suspended license.
In a May 22 article on Lancaster Online, both he and Esther were called out for blurring the lines between their real lives and the personas they have on their show, which has been touted as fake in the past.
Esther Schmucker Losing Weight For New Season?
"It's an interesting experience to play a role. But there is a world of difference between the real world and the reel world," the article says. "It's time these characters understood the distinction."
Adding to the article's assertion that the Schmucker siblings have blurred the lines is Esther's own legal dramas involving ex-boyfriend Imir Williams, who she pressed charges against last fall for beating her on Halloween.
Though Esther said Williams' two-month jail sentence for the assault was too lenient at the time, after he was paroled in prior to Christmas, she reportedly contacted him once again, and he was seen at her home in Lancaster County, a direct violation of his parole.
At his April hearing, where he was sentenced to another three months in prison for the parole violation, Esther was also lectured by the Judge for her role in the legal drama.
"If I could put you and Williams in Lancaster County Prison, I'd do it," Judge Reinaker said to her at the time.
"Lancaster County courts face a daunting caseload," the article states. "Recurring cases involving people who ignore or defy the law only add to the burden."
Meanwhile, Esther appears to have confirmed reports that the show will be returning for a fourth season on her Facebook page. The news was initially confirmed by attorney Steve Breit after her brother's sentencing.
"I have never learned the power of simply believing and just having faith like I have recently! Things that I have been worrying about for months I finally learned to let go and just simply have faith that God will take care of things and all that I need to do is believe, have faith, and pray and today it all just came together!! I am so thankful I could cry.. Thank you Thank you Thank you God!!" she wrote May 22.
Amish Mafia reportedly went on hiatus Feb. 26. There is no word on when season 4 will premiere on Discovery.
