American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson recently spoke a bit about the upcoming fourth season of the series, previewing what she seems to think will be a great season.

Emma Roberts Open To Playing 'Bearded Lady' In Season 4?

Paulson spoke with GoldDerby in a video chat Friday, teasing that fans of American Horror Story should expect the new season to be different from Coven.

"I really think people are not going to be disappointed," she said. "It's going to be very different, I think, than last year but in all the best ways."

Lily Rabe Not Returning to American Horror Story After ABC Series Pickup?

Paulson would not reveal any specific plot or character details about Season 4, which is subtitled Freak Show, though she seems very optimistic about the season.

The actress, who played psychic Billie Dean Howard in Season 1 of the series, reporter Lana Winters in Asylum and witch Cordelia Foxx in Coven, will be playing an entirely different character in Freak Show. American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy previously revealed that Paulson will be playing "the most challenging character I've ever created."

Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that Paulson would have to go through some "physical rigors" to portray her new character. When the Freak Show premise was first announced, Murphy had revealed that Paulson would be playing one of the "freaks" in a troupe of freaks living in Jupiter, Fla. The troupe is owned Jessica Lange's new character.

American Horror Story: Freak Show will premiere in fall 2014 on FX. The network has not yet announced a premiere date, though it will likely debut in October like the first three seasons.
