'Teen Mom' News: MTV Stars Come Together For Charity Event, Help 3-Year-Old Girl Battle Cancer? [VIDEO]
Recently two couples from MTV's Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 have decided to use their celebrity status to help a three-year-old fight cancer.
Amelia "Amie" Strzalkowski is a three-year-old suffering from a rare kind of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. Amie has been going through radiation treatment, but according to MTV on Wednesday, a benefit event sponsored by The LinkFund is stepping in to help support the family.
While a number of the Teen Mom stars are known for their reality drama, involving divorce, substance abuse, legal conflict, and even a sex tape, a few of the stars seem to want to give back, using their celebrity to benefit a good cause.
16 And Pregnant Season 6 Rumors
MTV stars Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Balteirra, Kailyn Lowry, and Java Marroquin will be at the LinkFund event for a "meet and greet," as well as for a signing of Lowry's book Pride Over Pity. The teen mom-turned-writer has done signings for her book before, and Lowell and Balteirra have made a number of appearances talking about their experience with teen pregnancy and parenthood.
Lowell and Balteirra have already met with little Amie and they seem more than just a little awed by the child. "She's [Amie] so funny and smart. She's got this personality that absolutely captures you," explained Lowell, "And it just makes me want to help her and raise as much money as much money as I possibly can to help this little girl."
The meet and greet event will take place in Mount Brighton, Michigan on July 13.
