'The Bachelorette' 2012 Episode 9 Results: Outrage as Emily Sends Home Fan-Favorite Bachelor
On the ninth episode of "The Bachelorette" on Monday, Emily Maynard surprised many of the show's viewers when she sent home one of the audience's favorite bachelors.
Maynard had only two roses to give at last night's episode which had the most viewers since the season premiere 8 weeks ago. The first went to Jef, the second to Arie and Sean was sent home.
"The fact that he was with someone for three years, but still dodged the marriage conversation, made me worry," Maynard wrote on her blog Tuesday.
"I always felt like there was a wall between us," she added.
Many viewers turned to Facebook to show outrage and disappointment at her decision.
"Emily let the best man go tonight," one woman wrote on Facebook.
"Bigggg Mistake!!! Sean was the best guy on the show. ABC please make him the next bachelor, she obviously does not deserve him. I'm so disappointed in Emily tonight, it makes me sick!" another person wrote on Facebook.
Viewers’ opinions on Monday echoed those of Maynard's girlfriends and former bachelors who, throughout the season, agreed that Sean had great qualities that were a good fit for Emily and her daughter Ricki.
In one of the early episodes of the season, Maynard introduced the bachelors to four of her female friends so that they could give her advice on who was a good fit for her.
Her friends agreed that Sean was one of the best.
Also, many of the guys who have been eliminated from the show have also said they thought Sean was a great guy and a good fit for Maynard.
Following Monday's episode, Sean's Twitter account was inundated with messages from women wanting to travel to Dallas to date him.
"I would have picked you Sean," one woman wrote on Twitter.
"If you don't become the next Bachelor I think I'm going to come find you in Dallas....date me please?" one woman tweeted on Tuesday.
"You're a gem! I guess this is God's way of showing you that He's still busy writing your perfect love story :)" another wrote.
"The Bachelorette" "Men Tell All" special will air next Monday and the two-hour finale will air Sunday July 22 followed by a live After the Final Rose special.
