Castle 2-Part Premiere Episode Features Mysterious Henry Character Able To Blend In With Crowd

Ryan Sands, who played Lloyd "Truck" Garrick on The Wire, has been cast as a Hamptons police sergeant on Castle, according to a new report by TVLine. Sands is appearing in the season premiere, which takes place after the tumultuous events of the Season 6 finale, with Castle (Nathan Fillion) getting into a car wreck on the day we supposed to wed Beckett (Stana Katic).

Sands is playing a Hamptons police sergeant named Tagger who helps Beckett in investigating "the most difficult case of her career." The report speculates that this is the case of who ran Castle off the road and caused the fiery car crash.

Senator Bracken Arc Is "Pretty Much Over" When Castle Returns

Castle's new show runner David Amann spoke with TVLine earlier in the week and revealed that the series would remain "committed" to the show's core relationship going forward.

"We are as committed to their relationship as Castle and Beckett are - they are deeply in love and they have overcome a great many challenges already, so whatever [has happened] is not going to tear them apart," he said. "If anything, it will make them stronger."

Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe added that the Castle character would be explored further in the new season, just like how Beckett has been explored extensively in the show's first six seasons.

Castle Season 7 is set to have its big premiere episode on Monday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
