List of Colorado Shootings' Victims: A 6-Year-Old Girl Among the Dead as Families Come Forward
Update (19:25pm EST): Two more victims have been identified by their families.
A list of the victims of the Aurora, Colorado movie shootings has not yet been released by authorities but many family members came forward to identify them.
Several newspapers have unveiled those who died in the horrible attack that has the nation in shock. Among the dead was a 6-year-old girl, according to the Aurora Sentinel.
The victims identified so far are in the list below compiled by EnStarz:
A 6-year-old girl named Veronica
Alexander Boik, 17
John Larimer, 27 a U.S. Navy sailor
One active duty serviceman
Micayla Medek, 23
Alex Sullivan, 27 a young man celebrating his 27th birthday
Jessica Ghawi, 24 a sports blogger.
(Update 1) Jesse Childress, 29, Air Force staff Sgt.
Matt McQuinn, 27
Ghawi's brother Jordan, wrote in his blog that his sister died of injuries sustained in the shooting.
Ten of the victims died on the scene and two others died at the hospital from injuries. The last from the 12 deceased victims was removed from the theater Friday afternoon.
About 70 people were injured and 11 of them were in critical condition on Saturday, according to several media reports.
The killings's suspect James Holmes, 24 is in police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Bomb experts and law enforcement authorities were working on dismantling the booby-trapped apartment of Holmes Saturday morning.
Authorities expect to recover evidence from the apartment to help with their investigation.
