New characters continue to enter the h0gh-stakes (and high-drama) fashion universe of CBS' The Bold and the Beautiful, with a surprising actor heading to the soap for a four-episode guest arc.

Ivy Makes A Move On Liam

Fred Willard, best known for comedic roles in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy has begun work on the daytime drama series, where he will play fellow newcomer Ivy's (Ashleigh Brewer) father, and the mysterious younger brother of Forrester patriarch Eric (John McCook).

According to TV Guide, Willard's character is a travelling salesman-inventor and quite the party boy. He will appear on the show after contacting his daughter, Ivy, while he's in the states (the two characters were originally based in Australia), and while visiting her in Los Angeles, he will reconnect with his older brother Eric.

Ivy Apologizes To Liam For Keeping Him From Hope

What is unclear however, is if his character will be a form of simple comic relief on-screen, or if he will have a hidden darker side and be trouble in disguise.

Considering the show's history, the latter may just be the case. Though their characters are full-time cast members, fellow newcomers in the past year-and-a-half have included Brewer, Ashlyn Pearce as Aly Forrester, Darin Brooks as Wyatt Spencer and Rena Sofer as Quinn Fuller, as well as the return of Sean Kanan as Deacon Sharpe and Thorsten Kaye as a recast for the role of Ridge Forrester.

The newcomers to the screen have all seen their characters expose some amount of a scheming dark side throughout their time on screen. Wyatt has consistently schemed to win his brother, Liam's (Scott Clifton) girlfriend Hope (Kim Matula), who he recently married on the series, while his mother, Quinn, and Aly, have both shown thoroughly crazy sides.

Even Brewer's Ivy has begun to show a more devious side on the show, after first debuting in July. After failing to help Liam and Hope reconnect, she has begun to try and seduce Liam for herself.

Willard's episodes are set to air in the first week of October.
