The big question Parenthood fans are asking is whether or not Julia and Joel will rekindle their troubled romance. It's clear that both Christensen and Jaeger want their characters to reunite.
"They have to be together," Christensen said. "It happens and people can survive that and so we have hope for them."

Yet, it won't be so easy since Joel feels disrespected by his estranged wife and of course Julia's infidelity doesn't help her case.
"I think it was six years, seven years of supporting his wife and then the roles are reversed and she stays at home," Jaeger explained. "When a relationship goes into a different territory, it's hard for them to figure out who they are and that new space."
Christensen added: "She didn't realize that that's what she was doing but she wasn't really respecting him. It was a big deal."
However, it's unclear in which direction the show will go. The show's executive producer previously revealed that next season will include surprising moments.
"One of the things I wanted to do with the season was to find one larger story that influences everybody on the show," Jason Katims said at the Television Critics Association's fall previews,TVGuide.com reported. "It's a huge challenge for this family and a kind we haven't seen before."
Parenthood's final season premieres on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
