The wait is over! The 2012 London Olympic Games are finally underway. The prestigious festivities will indeed feature both winners and losers in all of the athletic events. However, several of those competitors will not only go for the gold, but also receive notoriety for their incredible swooning good looks.

The following are just some of the finest females that will be competing for the gold, but have already won us over with their looks, according to Bleacher Report:

American diver Kelci Bryant missed out on a medal by the skin of her pearly white teeth in 2008 as she placed fourth in the 3m synchronized springboard event. Although she ended up victorious in the 2012 FINA Diving World Series in Beijing. With that smile and her competitive edge, who wouldn't want to watch her, in competition of course.

Amidst a whole new nucleus of female swimmers stands Elizabeth Biesel. She is slated to be prime competition for the equally hot Aussie Stephanie Rice; who is the defending champ in the 400m individual medley. Does anyone else see a striking resemblance to one Sookie Stackhouse from HBO's "True Blood"? In this case, water is thicker then blood!

What would the London games be without a mention of one of their very own? Great Britain's Jessica Ennis is slated to be in the running for a gold medal in the pentathlon as well as the 100m hurdles. With those washboard abs and the smile of a true champion; she will be highly regarded not only by her competition, but by male admirers all of the world as well.

"Oh Canada" clearly has many meanings; especially when it comes to sexy Olympic divers Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion. Although the two are not predicted to pickup any wins in the synchronized diving event, but they will definitely turn some heads on the podium.

After winning both team and individual gold at the 2012 European Championships in Brussells, blonde headed Romanian beauty gymnast Sandra Izbasa is predicted to contend both on the vault and in our hearts.

Anyone else in for runway modeling being added to the Olympic Games?
