Parenthood's final season premiere is just two days away and actor Sam Jaeger revealed a few details on his character Joel and his estranged wife Julia (Erika Christensen.)

The couple, who was living apart at the end of season five, will have a long way to go before there's a chance of reconciliation, Jaeger explained.

"There's always a chance for them to get back together," he told E! Online in a new interview. "And hey, I'd love to report that all of season six is us just sitting around laughing and hugging each other. But there are more conflicts and more outside and inside threats to their relationship. They are just different people now than where the season ended. We certainly don't start where we left off."

Julia and Joel's marriage went downhill after she confessed to kissing Ed last season. The mother of two attempted to salvage her relationship, but Joel was hesitant and even confessed that their relationship wasn't working even before she engaged in the kiss. With tears in his eyes, the father of their two children explained that he felt hurt by her displeasure of being a stay-at-home mom and revealed that he considered her kiss cheating.

"She didn't realize that that's what she was doing but she wasn't really respecting him. It was a big deal," Christensen recently told Access Hollywood.

Parenthood's final season premieres on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
