US Olympic 2012 Gymnastics Team Gets Surprise Visit By Kate Middleton
Kate Middleton personally greeted and congratulated the U.S. women's gymnastics team at the Olympics yesterday.
The members of the "Fierce Five" were so excited by the surprise introduction that they shared their appreciation on Twitter.
The team's captain Aly Raisman tweeted: "Just met princess Kate with @jordyn_wieber @kyla_ross96 & @gabrielledoug she is beautiful & so nice! I told her I loved her style lol :)."
"Yesterday we met the Duchess, Kate Middleton! She was so nice and she told us she loved our leotards!" tweeted Jordan Wiebler, according to Daily Mail.
Four of the five members met the Duchess of Cambridge- Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross and Gabby Douglas. The fifth member, McKayla Maroney was not present.
"Can't believe I just met Princess Kate Middleton! She was in the crowd at the competition and she stood up to talk to us! #honored'," Weiber added.
The brief introduction occurred at the O2 Arena in London. Middleton congratulated the team for winning a gold medal for the team final match at the London Games.
Fans of the gymnasts nicknamed the quintet "The Fab Five," according to several reports. Maroney told an editor at The Associated Press that the teen stars prefer be called the "Fierce Five" on Twitter:

Middleton is the ambassador for Team Great Britain and has been showing her support by joining her husband Prince Williams at many Olympic Games. The Royal Couple joined other members of the Royal Family by attending many competitions including the match for equestrians, the men's sprinting, men's tennis, the heptathlon challenge and women's swimming competitons.
