It was reported in October that the Battlestar Galactica actor signed on for the anticipated role.
"We've waited a long time to meet Bishop's husband, and we've found him in Jamie Bamber," showrunner Gary Glasberg said in a statement. "Jamie is a charming, talented actor, and we're thrilled to have him on-board for this Thanksgiving episode and some exciting surprises to come."
Wickersham, who joined the show last year, previously revealed how excited she is for fans to get to know more about her Midwestern character.
"I'm not sure what's been revealed, to be honest, but it's a storyline that I'm really looking forward to getting to know more about," she told the website about Jake's storyline. "I think it'll be fun to see where Bishop comes from. She has three older brothers, which I think makes the transition to hanging out with the NCIS crew easier."
NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
