The men's 110-meter hurdles will have its semifinals and finals pan out on Aug. 8 starting at 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time.

The semifinals will have three heats with nine athletes competing in each in order to qualify for the finals. In Wednesday's competition, each heat will feature one American athlete. Jason Richardson, 26, marked in with 13.33 seconds in round one that aired on Aug. 7, the fastest time in his heat that day.

Fellow American Aries Merritt, 27, also performed well on Tuesday, ranking No. 1 in his heat with a mark of 13.07 seconds. Merritt came in first at the U.S. Trials and Jeff Porter, 26, is Team USA's third athlete to perform at the hurdles final. His wife is Great Britain hurdler Tiffany Porter.

The current world record was made by Dayron Robles of Cuba with 12.87 seconds, performed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The win was Robles first ever Olympic gold medal win and the athlete will also compete this year in the semifinals on Aug. 8.

Dominican Republic's Felix Sanchez won the gold medal at the men's 400-meter hurdles on Aug. 6, with American athlete Michael Tinsley nabbing the silver. The 110-meter hurdles is one of the few track and field sports that is reserved only for male athletes.
